What is Biological Medicine?
Biological Medicine is a multi – disciplinary approach to healing. It is founded on wisdom of the past and validated by science of the present. It is the science, practice, and art of healing that is a fundamental form of medicine, combining the most rooted systems of traditional methods of healing with technology and modern discoveries.1 Such combination of ancient wisdom and science has greatly advanced health management in the most natural way.
It is labeled European natural medicine by most who come from the west.2 Although it was developed by Europeans, it has, in fact, foundational principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Herbology, and energy medicine that are deeply woven into it. And since Homeopathy is founded in Europe, it is one among its many modalities.
Advances in science, physics, quantum dynamics, bio-photon physics, immunology, neuro-immunology, neuro-endocrinology, and more have increasingly validated the profound role it plays in the health of the whole person – not just one of his organs.
The origin of the word “individual” came from Latin which meant “one and indivisible” or, “cannot be divided.”3 The thinking of Biological Medicine is that healing cannot be divided into individual parts, but of the whole individual, and is deeply imbued with an appreciation of the fact that man forms part of a whole, i.e. of Earth and creation, and that, before, during, and after his lifetime, he is in a state of profound integration with this whole. This philosophical line of thought constitutes a further difference from the current point of view of Orthodox Medicine, which regards man rather as a static unity and as a collection of self-contained organs, and would even treat the individual as isolated organs. 1
It is a merger of various modalities which include, but are not limited to the following: Nutritional Medicine, Acupuncture, Herbology, Energy Medicine, Neural therapy, Oxygen Healing Therapies, Mind-body therapies, Light therapy, Isopathy, and Homeopathy. It also takes into close consideration Biological dentistry as part of the individual’s healing as a whole. It is founded on the reality that the body has been endowed with self – healing abilities, and the task of the practitioner is to find out what is it in the patient that keeps his body from achieving this.4
Every person is different. Thus, every person’s health or lack of it manifests in slightly different ways. Hence, a single approach has clearly shown to be very limited. As Dr. Sandeep Budhiraja, MD, of India says, “No singular method can be the best method and for me as a physician, a mix of conventional medicine and biological medicine ensures that I am able to provide the optimum course of treatment.”2 It does not compete with conventional medicine. In fact, a combination of conventional and biological medicine greatly helps the growing number of the chronically ill.
